About
Born "Shawn Mims" or Simply Mims, was born on March 22, 1981 at Washington Heights, Manhattan. Mims briefly attended college because he wanted to concentrate more on his music career. He then signed a recording contract under Capitol Records and soon he performed with Canadian group, Baby Blue Soundcrew in the single, "Love Em All". Two years after, that was in 1003, Mims released his first solo single, "I Did You Wrong".
After years of singing he decided to form his own record label called American King Music and produced his debut album, Music is My Savior in 2007. His single, "This is Why I Rock" easily landed at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts.
