Backstreet Boys' Millennium is the boy band’s follow up album to the successful Backstreet’s Back. Millennium is the first ever album to be released internationally and in the U.S at the same time.

May 18, 1999 marked a history in music industry when Backstreet Boys released their third studio album, Millennium under Jive Records. “I Want It That Way”, the album’s carrier single has made the album enter various charts internationally.

The Millennium album sold almost 500,000 copies in the United States on its first day of release. It immediately reached the #1 spot in Billboard 200, where it also stayed for 10 non-consecutive weeks. Certified to be 13x Platinum, the Millennium is quoted as the best selling album of 1999. It also received several gold and platinum awards in 45 countries.
