[edit] About

Meredith Ann Brooks was born on July 12, 1968 in Oregon City, Oregon. She was married to Russell Jackson (1991 - 1998). At 11 years old Meredith Brooks learned how to play guitar. In the 1980's she left her home and moved to Los Angeles where oppurtunities are bigger to enter the music industry. In 1990's she became a member of a group called The Graces. In 1989, The group recorded an album, Perfect View.

Brooks signed in with Capitol Records and released her debut single, "Bitch", in 1997 which earned her a nomination on the Grammy Award. Her debut album Blurring The Edges went Platinum. She toured all over America and Europe. Her success just started but her marriage ended in 1998.

In 1999, her follow up album, Deconstruction, was released. The style and theme was far more different than Blurring The Edges. Unfortunately, the album didn't have the success of her first album since the record label decided to have her tours in Europe. The song "Sing City" appeared on the movie Snake Eyes.

In 2002, she was already under Gold Circle Rerords. She released her third album, Bad Bad One. After the album's release the label was hanging by a thread. "Sunshine" was released as a single. In 2002, Brook worked with Jennifer Love Hewitt and produced her album, Barenaked. She also appeared as a guest guitarist on with Celine Dion and Anastacia on the VH1 Divas Las Vegas. In 2004, she released the album, Shine under Savoy Jazz Records.
