Memphis Bleek was born in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Memphis first album, The Coming of Age was an instant hit. It reached number seven in the Billboard 200 and number one in the Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart.
Memphis second album, The Understanding reached number 16 on the Billboard 200. His follow up album M.A.D.E. reached number one on the Top R&B/Hip-hop Albums chart. In the year 2005, his album, 534 was released. The album was only a minor hit. Memphis next album is due to be released this summer 2007.
