Clay Aiken was the runner-up of the second season of American Idol, Clay Aiken released his debut album, Measure of a Man, a mere five months after the show ended. Clay was something more than a singer that came in second; he became a pop phenomenon, capturing the hearts and minds of American Idol's core audience of preteens and homemakers.

Measure of a Man is an adult contemporary song, written by such industry stalwarts, the likes of Desmond Child and Cathy Dennis which was released on October 14, 2003.

The album Measure of A Man contains 12 tracks and a bonus track entitled This is the Night. Clay's delivery was sweet and expertly coached, He render these songs a bit of innocence and believability. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and sold 613,000 copies in its first week. The album received RIAA Double platinum, after one month of released.
