Maxwell is a R&B singer who rose to fame via his hit album, Embrya.

Maxwell was born on May 23, 1973 in Brooklyn, New York. His real identity is still a secret up to now out of concern for his family's privacy. As a child, he began performing in their Baptist church. At the age of 17, he began composing songs. At the age of 18, he began performing in New York Club. He signed a recording contract under Columbia Records in 1994.
In 1995, he released his debut album followed by his second album, Embrya in 1998, which became an instant hit. The album chartered at number three in album charts. His last album, Now was released in 2001. It reached number one on the charts.
