About

Born Martin Xavier Casey on September 26, 1973. He is the youngest of the six children raised in Hickory Hills, Illinois. As a child, Marty Casey participated in sports such as competitive wrestling and baseball wherein he met future bandmates, brothers Bobby Kourelis and Dino Kourelis in a T-ball practice when they were eight years old. They've become best of friends since then and soon they decided to form The Swinging Lovehammers while attending Amos Alonzo Stagg High School. He has an exceptional songwriting skill drawn from his personal experiences. This was proven when he entered his song Rain on the Brain in the annual John Lennon songwriting contest where it became a finalist. (also included in his sophomore effort with his band, Lovehammers, L'Strange)

He has successfully managed his time with his band and his studies that he even graduated with a degree in Finance at University of Illinois, Champaign. After graduating, he became an intern for the Board of Trade then in an independent record label. He also worked as a real estate appraiser where he earned a steady income as well as flexible time to be with his band.

Marty Casey and his band the Lovehammers toured and opened for famous acts like, Jerry Cantrell, Cake, and Nickelback. Through this, they've managed to create a small but loyal fanbase in their hometown. Marty Casey decided to take a short break when he joined the audition for the next INXS vocalist in CBS', Rock Star: INXS. He earned not only the respect of the 80's rock group, INXS, he also received the most votes from the viewers than any of the contestants in the said show. Marty Casey finished as a runner up to J.D. Fortune. Going back to his hometown, he received a call from Tim Farris, the guitarist of INXS and invited Marty Casey and his band to become their opening act in their 2006 tour. That same year, before touring with INXS, Marty Casey and the Lovehammers released their self-titled debut album for Sony label, Marty Casey & Lovehammers.
