Martha Wainwright is a Canadian-American singer to the proud parents of Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle. She played in some of the music festivals as far away as England and Denmark and also appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman.

About
Alternative singer Martha Wainwright was born on May 8, 1976 in Montreal. The daughter of Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle. Martha was born to be under a spotlight. She began performing at a very young age and decided to pursue her music career. After high school, she enrolled at Montreal’s Concordia University to be a drama major. Martha then began writing her own materials and played in clubs and coffeehouses.
In 1997, she issued her debut album, Ground Floor, followed by an extensive tour with her brother, Rufus Wainwright. When the tour was over she moved to New York where opportunities were wide open. The young artist played a role in a musical titled, Largo. In 2002, a four-track album, Factory, and her self-titled album were released. She also contributed some of her materials to Bern and Kate & Anna McGarrigle albums. In 2000, Martha performed in the ROCKGRRL Music Conference along with Andy Stockansky, Clem Snide and Sue Medley. In 2005, she released her fourth attempt, Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole followed by Martha Wainwright.
