Marley Marl is an American Hip-Hop Artist and a Producer. He rose to fame via his album, In Control, Vol.1.

About

Marley Marl or "Marlon Williams" in real life was born on September 30, 1962 in Queens, New York. Marley is a hyperactive child and therefore he was sent to a special education school. While attending in Manhattan High School, he met "Breakout" from the group, The Bronx. Impressed with the demo tapes of Breakout, Marley formed his own group named, "Sureshot Crew" in 1977. His first break came when he produced the single of Roxanne Shante entitled ""Roxanne's Revenge,". He also produced some singles of Eric B. and Rakim. In 1988, he released his debut album, In Control, Vol.1 which chartered at #25 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. His next album, In Control, Vol.2 was issued in 1991 which landed at #46 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. Re-Entry was released in 2001 and West End Mixtape Sessions, Vol.1 in 2004.
