About
Make Believe was released on May 10, 1995 by Geffen Records. The album was released in commemoration on the eleventh anniversary of their debut album Weezer. The album was bolstered by the single "Beverly Hills" which is the first Grammy Nomination for the band. The single was their biggest chart album peak hitting #11 in the United Kingdom Charts and #2 in the United States.
"We Are All on Drugs" was the second single released which was a bit controversial where there was mixing error during the release. Some profess that the song is a blatant censure on widespread drug use in America while while others claim that it is more of a figurative stab at contemporary societal issues. Nonetheless the single charted at #15 in the U.S. Modern Rock Tracks and #35 in the Mainstream Rock Tracks.
"Perfect Situation", the third single was also considered as one of their most successful songs release topping the Billboard Rock Tracks for four weeks. The fourth and last single was "This Is Such a Pity" marks the first time that Weezer has ever released a fourth single from their albums.
