Main Source was formed in 1989 in New York City by, DJ's, "K-Cut", and "Sir Scratch" with "Large Professor". Their debut album, Breaking Atoms was issued on July 1991 under Wild Pitch Records. It features the hit singles, "Looking at the Front Door" which chartered at #1 on the Hot Rap Singles and "Just Hangin' Out" which landed at #11 on the Hot Rap Singles, "A Friendly Game of Baseball" and "Watch Roger Do Hist Thing". In 1994, Large left the group due to financial issues and started to concentrate on production work. He was replaced by, "Mikey D". In that same year, they issued their second album, Fck What You Think. The album features the single, "What You Need" which peaked at #48 on the Hot Rap Singles. After the album was totally shelved, the group decided to separate.
