MC Lyte is a popular American Rap Singer who rose to fame via her albun, Lyte As A Rock.

MC Lyte or "Lana Michele Moorer" in real life was born on October 11. 1971 in Brookkyn, New York. She started singing at the age of 12. Her first single, "I Cram To Understand U" was issued in 1986. She signed a recording contract under First Priority Music and released her debut album, Lyte As A Rock in 1988. The album features the single, "10% Dis". In 1989, her album, Eyes on This was released. The album spawned the hit singles, "Cha Cha Cha" and "Capuccino". Her next album, Ain't No Other was released in 1993 and features the single "Ruffneck". In 1996,she signed a recording contract under Electra Records and issued the album, Bad As L Wanna B. the album landed at #1 on Rap Track.
