Lyle Lovett is an American Alternative Country Artist who rose to fame via his award winning album, Lyle Lovett and His Large Band.

About

Lyle Lovett or "Lyle Pearce Lovett" was born on November 1, 1957 in Klein, Texas to "Bernell Lovett", a training specialist and "William Lovett", a marketing executive. She took up German and Journalism at Texas A&M University. While a student, Lyle used to performed at local folk festivals and clubs.


Her career began as a songwriter while she was studying at Texas A&M University taking up Journalism in the late 70's. In 1986, she signed a recording contract under MCA Records. She relesed her self-titled debut album in that same year. It features the single, "Cowboy Man" which chartered at #10 on the US Country Charts and "Why I Don't Know" which landed at #15 on the Country Charts.


His second album, Pontiac was released in 1988. His first grammy award winning album, Lyle Lovett and His Large Band was released in 1989. In 1991, he did a movie entitled The Player which was released in 1992. He married Julia Roberts in 1993, however after two years of marriage, they divorced. His next album, Joshua Judges Ruth was also released that year. It debuted at #57 on the Country Charts and went gold. In 1994, he released his next album, I Love Everybody.


In 1996, he released his next album, The Road To Ensenada which landed at #4 on the Country Charts. His first live album, Live in Texas was released in 1999. Other hit album released were, Step Inside The House in 1998, Dr. T and The Women in 2000, My Baby Don't Tolerate in 2003 and his latest album, It's Not Big It's Large in August 2007.
