Love Spit Love was founded by Richard Butler in 1992 after the band, Psychedelic Fur disbanded. Richard recruited Richard Furtus for guitar and Frank Ferver for drums.
The band self-titled debut album was released in 1994 under Imago Records. The band's second album, Thrysome Eatone was released in 1997, which produced two hit singles, "Long Long Time" and "Fall on Tears".
