Lil_Mama is an upcoming American Hip-Hop Star who rose to fame via her first hit single, "Lip Gloss".

Lil_Mama or "Niatia Jessica Kirkland" in real life was born on October 4, 1989 and raised in Brooklyn and Harlem. As a child, she loves writing poetry as well as dance choreography. Her father, who owns the recording label, "Familiar Faces" encouraged her to joined the music industry. Lil knew that being a hip-hop artist could enhance both of those interests.
Lil was featured in the hit single, "Girlfriend" which she collaborated with Avril Lavigne. She also did the remix of Rihanna's hit single, "Umbrella". She was also featured in the remix version of "Gimme More" of Britney Spears. In 1996, she went in Atlanta to work with "James Chambers" who wrote the song, "Lip Gloss" which is the first single of Lil released in 2006. The single is a big hit, which will pave the released of her debut album, Voice of The Young People, which is due to be released on November 27, 2007.
