Leona Naess is an Alternative Pop rock singer from New York City. She was influenced by the all time singers Edie Brickell, Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell, David Bowie and Joy Division.

Leona Kristina Naess was born on July 31, 1974 in New York City but she was raised in London, England. She was born in a rich family. Her father, Arne Naess, Jr. is a Norwegian shipping magnate and mother, Filippa Kumlin D’Orey, a designer. At the age of 9 years old, her parents divorced. She turned to music for solace and strength. Leona attended the prestigious NYU where she met a number of aspiring musicians. There, she also developed her musical skills. In 1998, MCA records signed her in followed by the release of her debut album, Comatised in 2000. It received numerous positive reviews. Leona went on tour with Eagle Eye Cherry, Ryan Adams and David Gray. In 2001, I Tried To Rock You But You Would Only Roll was issued. It was a more upbeat album. Two years later, a self-titled album hit shelves.
