Kurupt is an American Hip-Hop Singer and a former member of The Dogg Pound. He issued several albums including his hit album, Kuruption!.

About

Kurupt or "Ricardo Emmanuel Brown" in real life was born on November 23, 1972 in Darby Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He started rapping at the age of 8. In the mid-80's, he relocated in Hawthorne, California to live with his father. He befriended Snoop Dog and after Snoop was discovered and signed a contract, Korupt also joined him. Snoop's cousin signed also a contract under the same label. Soon, they formed a new group called, The Dogg Pound.


Kurupt went solo in 1988 and released his debut album, Kuruption in that same year. The album chartered at #8 on The Billboard 200. It features the singles, "Ask Yourself A Question" and "C-Walk". His second album, The Streetz is A Mutha was released in 1999 under Anthra. The album landed at #31 on The Billboard 200 and features the songs, "Who Rid With Us", "Girls All Pause" and "The Streetz is Mutha".


His third album, Space Boogie: Smoke Oddessey was issued in 2001. It chartered at #31 on The Billboard 200 Albums Chart. In 2005, his next album, Against The Grain was released. His next album, Same Day, Different Shit was released in 2006. His latest album, G-Boy Status is soon to be released this year.

  • Also known as Young Gotti and The Kingpin, he is one half of the rap duo Tha Dogg Pound along with Daz Dillinger. He is also a member of underground supergroup The HRSMN along with: Canibus, Ras Kass, Killah Priest.
