About

Krystal Meyers released her self-titled album when she was 16, and has shared stages with different Christian rock acts since then. She has toured Japan a couple of times due to her widely popular status and solid fan base in the country. Before the release of her self-titled debut, she already scored a No. 1 radio hit with "The Way to Begin."

The album was produced by "Wizard of Oz" (Avril Lavigne, Liz Phair) and artist/producer Ian Eskelin, with Meyers writing the bulk of the songs in the album.

Meyers speaks about God's goodness in the tracks "My Savior", "Fire", and "Fall to Pieces" while she tackles the message of surrender in "Rescue" and "Can't Stay." "Anticonformity" became the defining anthem that gained her international fame. "The idea of the song is not conforming to the ways of the world, but instead living a life by God's standards. By not listening to the world says you should be, you'll find life's true meaning and you'll feel good about yourself," she explains.

Reviews

Krystal Meyers' debut certainly achieved a following, particularly the adolescent age-group believers. Her teen rock, catchy pop hooks with punk rock flavor has a definite appeal to the youth. Yet the connection doesn't cease in the rhythms, it flows wonderfully in the meaningful lyrics composed by Meyers herself. Although some see her simplistic rhyming lyrics a weakness, while others find a lack of lyrical depth, the simple evident words that point directly to the Creator still serve as an edge for such young fans. As her fans grow so does Meyers, including her lyrical artistry and intensity, as proved by her succeeding album, Dying for a Heart. --jamie 06:43, 12 February 2007 (PST)
