Korn is a nu metal band from Bakersfield, California, United States. They are credited for giving significant boosts to Limp Bizkit and Deftones. They released their self-titled album Korn in 1994.

Korn consists of five members. It was headed by Jonathathan Davis. The band was originally called LAPD which stands for Love and Peace Dude. Then they changed their named to Creep. When Jonathan joined Creep in 1993, they changed their name to Korn.

In 1994, the band released their seff-titled debut album under Epic Records. Korn was often cited as inspiring the wave of nu metal bands that formed in the late 90's and 2000's.

In 2005, one of the member, Brian Welch left the band and turned to highly religious. He was even baptized in the Jordan River.

The band has been successful up to this moment. They continue to progress and experiment with new sounds. They completed their record deal under Sony Records and plans to have their own recording company.
