Kate Ryan is a Pop/Dance Belgian Singer who gained popularity when she released her debut album, Different.

Kate Ryan or "Katrien Verbeeck" in real life was born on July 22, 1980, in Tessenderlo, Belgium. Her family is a musical incline. She learned to play piano and guitar at her early age. She also had a voice lesson. As a teenager, she used to performed in some bars and cafes. At the age of 16, Kate became a member of the Pop group named, "Melt". After two years, the group separated. Kate met "Andy Janssens" and decided to write a single, "Scream For More" which was issued in 2001. The single is a big hit and chartered #9 in the Belgian Singles Chart.


She signed a recording contract under EMI Belgium and released her debut album, Different in 2002. It sold 250,000 copies in Europe. The album debuted #1 in the Belgian Albums Chart. It features the singles, "Désenchantée" which landed #1 in the Belgian Singles Chart and "UR (My Love)" which reached at #17 in the Belgian Chart.


Her next album, Stronger was released in 2004 and released in the USA in 2005. It features the single, "The Promise You Made". In 2006, she issued her next album, Alive. It was released in the US in April 2008. The album features the singles, "Je t'adore" which chartered at #1 in the Belgian Singles Chart, "Alive" and "All For You".
