About
Joe Satriani was born on July 15, 1956, in Westbury, NY, and was raised in Carle Place. Satriani was inspired by guitar legend, Jimi Hendrix, picked up the guitar at the age of 14 although Joe’s first interest was on playing drums. Joe quickly learned and mastered the art of playing the instrument and eventually spreading the craft which he has developed to famous guitarists like Steve Vai, Kirk Hammet of Metallica, Marty Friedman of Megadeth, John Petrucci of Dream Theatre and Larry LaLonde of Primus to name a few.
