About

Joseph Mulrey McIntyre (AKA Joe Mac & Joey McIntyre) born at Deaconess-Glover Hospital in Needham, Massachusetts in the eve of New Year, 31st of December 1972. He was raised in an Irish Catholic family of nine children where he's the youngest. As a child, he was heavily involved in acting and singing. At the age of 13, he joined the New Kids On The Block replacing Jamie Kelly, in 1985. Since the other four members of the group have known each other being long time school friends (brothers Jordan Knight and Jonathan Knight, Donne Wahlberg, and Danny Wood), Joe had a hard time blending into the group at first. But, of course, the others accepted him quickly. In 1990, he graduated at the Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. They became one of the most successful boy group and also the most profitable boy band in history. They even topped Forbes magazine's highest-paid entertainers. However, as the audience matured, they fell out of the commercial favor and after releasing their modernized sound album Face the Music in 1994, (even shortened their name to NKOTB), the quintet disbanded the same year.

He pursued a career as an actor and filmed a movie entitled The Fantasticks, which starred veteran actor Joel Grey. He even recorded the song for the film, Try To Remember, though the film was never released. He returned to music, composing his own material and using his own money to record his debut solo CD Stay The Same, selling it to his own website. After receiving national airplay and requests, he received a recording contract from Sony Music USA (home to the NKOTB Columbia label) where his CD Stay The Same was re-released in 1999, under that label with an extra track I Love You Came Too Late. Also, in that same year, he recorded a song Remember Me for the film Southie which starred his former bandmate, Donnie Wahlberg.

Joe returned with his second solo CD in 2001, Meet Joe Mac and in 2002, he returned to acting by appearing in Boston Public for a season. Joe released a live acoustic album One Too Many: Live From New York in 2003 then the following year, he released 8:09. His fourth solo album was highly influenced by his wife. They even got married on August 9, 2003, a year to the day they had met. He also made another movie the same year, Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding.
