[edit] About

The Cester brothers grew up in the Aussie outback to classic rock that came from their parents. Their most favorite album would be The Beatles' Abbey Road. To which they get their inspiration from. When they were younger, the brothers formed an imaginary band called, The Boys, and they would use tennis rackets as their guitars on imaginary gigs.

The name Jet came from former Beatle Paul McCartney, who released a song entitled Jet on the album Band On The Run. It was only natural since the band loved The Beatles so much. The Cester brothers began to materialize their dream of forming their own group. And now they are Nic Cester (guitar, vocals), Chris Cester (drums, vocals), Cameron Muncey (guitar, vocals), and Mark Wilson (bass).

Jet self released their EP entitled, Dirty Sweet in 2002. It was on limited release and only 2,000 vinyl albums were available. Jet's performance on their concerts were flawless and they gained a loyal fan base in their native Australia, just as The Vines were starting to gain popularity worldwide.

In early 2003 Jet signed on with Elektra Rocords and their Dirty Sweet EP was released domestically that same year. Marilyn Manson's Dave Sarday produced Jet's first full-length album under the record label and it was entitled, Get Born. Apart from the upcoming release of their debut album, Jet got a call to fill up the slot on the Australian leg of The Rolling Stones' tour. And jet happily took the gig which made them the opening act and finally gaining notoriety on that matter.

Their debut album was released in October 7, 2003. The record merely reflect their major influences such as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. They were aiming more of the 60's rock era, which the band pulled off effortlessly. Band member Chris Cester says the album is a reminder to forget your problems and celebrate the moment instead. Indeed, Jet has proven that correct in their debut album.

Jet was the supproting act from Oasis in their Don't Believe The Truth tour in 2005.

Their second album, Shine On released in October 1st 2006 is slowly gaining popularity, just like its predecessor.

The band is currently signed on to play at the renowned Big Day Out Festival in Australia and New Zealand in 2007. Fellow artists billed are Tool, Muse, The Killers, and My Chemical Romance.
