Jesse Powell was born on February 24, 1971 in Gary, Indiana. Jesse met the producers of his albums in Kansas City. He released his self-titled debut album in 1996. His second album, Bout It was released in 1998 and it was a big hit. His third album, JP was released in 2000. His fourth album, Jesse was released in 2003.
