Jeannie Ortega is an American recording artist, actress, dancer and songwriter who rose to fame via her hit singles "Crowded" and "Papoose".

Jeannie Ortega was born on November 19, 1986 at Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York. Jeannie was a member of the first graduating cleass of Brooklyn's High School of the Arts. Jeannie began performing at local parks when she was still young.

In 2002, she signed a recording contract with Hollywood Records. In 2006, she released her debut album No Place Like Bklyn which features the single "Papoose". Her album reached number 5 at the Billboard Top Heatseekers Chart. She also appeared in the movie Step Up with Mario and Channing Tatum.
