vocals, guitar, percussion

Bio

John "Jay" Driscoll, one of the founding members of the organic/acoustic rock group, Barefoot Truth, grew up in South Hadley, MA. He began playing guitar at the age of 15 when he received his first guitar for Christmas. Growing up, he and his family spent summers in Groton Long Point, CT, where, in the summer of 2003, he met up with Will Benoit. Both realized they shared the same musical tastes and began playing their guitars together and within several weeks were playing small shows for family and friends. Originally, the duo would play Jack Johnson and Dispatch covers. Before long, the duo began to pen out their own songs which quickly caught on with their group of friends and family who encouraged them to make their first recorded CD entitled, BAREFOOT. The duo's name originally came as a result of their playing on the beach and at local venues without shoes on which represented the beachy feel in their songs. Barefoot quickly became a local sensation and fans would place "Barefoot" stickers on any sign they could find.

After several years, three CD's and a forced name change, Barefoot Truth continues to perform all over the Northeast. In 2007, Jay graduated from UMASS Amherst with a degree in Geosciences. Jay Driscoll expanded his music expertise to include many new stringed instruments which has added to their sound. The original duo is now four members with the addition of bassist Andy Wrba and Harmonica player Garrett Duffy. The groups first music video for their song Reelin', from their 2007 album, "Walk Softly" is due out in the Spring of 2008.
