And so it goes... Another priceless addition to the music industry, this American singer-songwriter left his mark with debut single "Remedy (I Won't Worry)" from 2002 album "Waiting For My Rocket To Come". A psychedelic musician as some remarks, he writes songs randomly about his life, fooling around, having fun, not taking life so seriously. He's the guy carrying his guitar and singing in front of the camera: Jason Mraz.

[edit] About
[edit] Starting Out
Jason Thomas Mraz traces his roots from Mechanicsville, Virginia, which is by the way a suburb of Richmond and is famous because of its blacksmiths, thus the name Mechanicsville. He was born in June 23, 1977 and spent his youth listening to pop music stations, idolizing Dave Matthews, and eventually discovering his mad musical side. His parents however, were not that supportive of him since they were at the verge of divorcing and working at the time he was growing up and finding the musician in him.
He never dreamt of himself being a musician and all, until he landed a short stint studying in a musical theater in the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, where he was not a straight "A" student but found his way from his below average ratings all the way to A's when he discovered the voice to follow which ultimately became the spark of his singing career--this voice led him back to Virginia.
In 1999, Jason headed towards West, in San Diego, California, where he happened to know someone who lives there, because he wanted to pursue his songwriting career.
After which, he settled for the coffeehouse/acoustic music scene then and met drummer Toca Rivera, they were witty and punning musicians that simply enjoyed what they were doing. It was a hit! Toca Rivera on his Djembe, Jason Mraz on the guitars and vocals-they were a dynamic sensation!
[edit] Making It Big
After his coffeehouse shows that were plainly friendly banter with his percussionist and the fans, he went over from coast-to-coast and gained fans that followed his show around. He did a lively show each and every time since he believed that the key to a successful performance was keeping the fans "in" the show. His strategy proved to be correct and so he landed himself a record label, same as the Dave Matthews Band and John Mayer, which was Elektra.
In 2003, his hit single the Remedy (I Won't Worry) gained much airplay both in the radio and music channels. The said single was a blast and therefore leads to the successful release of his debut album Waiting For My Rocket To Come which was a Certified Platinum by May 2005. The album was also at No.5 of Billboard 200.
Jason Mraz is no small time singer no more, he toured with many famous artists around the US like Alanis Morissette and the Rolling Stones.
Early in 2006, he started global domination with his tours around the Philippines, Singapore, Japan and all other parts of Asia, the U.K and Ireland, and eventually back to the US. His latest tour is down under in Australia, afterwards he goes back to the US.
