Jamiroquai is a funk and dance band. It is one of the biggest bands in the 90's. It is led by the singer Jason Kay and the other members are Stuart Zender (bass), Toby Smith (keyboards), Wallis Buchanan (didgeridoo, vibes), and Derrick McKenzie (drums).

Jamiroquai was formed in the 1990's. The band had gone through a lot of carreer changes but only one man made it through everything, Jason Kay, also known as JK. Born on December 30, 1969, in Stretford, Manchester. At the age of 15 years old JK left home. One day he found himself broke and running from the law. It was after when he almost experienced death, JK went back to his home and pursued his career in music. Jamiroquai is a combination of the word the Iroqiois, a Native American tribe, and a music based word jam.
In 1992, Jamiroquai released their debut single "When You Gonna Learn?" under Acid Jazz Records. The band members are Derrick McKenzie (drummer), Toby Smith (keyboard), Stuart Zender (bass) and Wallis Buchanan (vibraphonist). After the band's successful album they were taken under the wings of Sony Records. In 1993, the band released their full length debut album called Emergency On Planet Earth. In 1995, the band's second album, The Return Of The Space Cowboy, the single "Space Cowboy", was also a hit in Japan.
In 1996, the band's third album, Traveling Without Moving, reached America and became an instant hit. The single, "Virtual Insanity", was an awar winning video. The band's basist, Zender, left the group despite of their success but shortly they found a new bassist, Nick Fyffe. In 1998, the track "Deeper Underground" was included in the soundtrack of the movie, Godzilla. In 1999, the fourth album, Synkronized, was a success in Europe. JK was accused of assaulting a photographer but it didn't stop the band. In 2001, A Funk Odyssey, came out. After, Jamiroquai spent two years planning for his next album. Finally in 2006, Dynamite hit record bars all over the globe.
