About

Ivana Santilli was born in Toronto, Canada to an Italian father and French Canadian mother. At 9, she began singing with her father who is a member of an Italian band and has sang for several wedding ceremonies already. She studied piano lessons and while in high school she met Loretto Abbey who later on became her trumpet coach. She added trumpet to Ivana's expanding range of musical arsenal.

After earning a bachelor's degree it was the time where she hooked up for her first major band, Bass is Base. The band released two albums. But after the two albums released, Ivana felt she needed to move on to find her own music as solo artist.

Two years passed of writing, arranging and composing resulted her in releasing her first ever solo album Brown on 1999. The album was good that it became one of the most successful independent albums released in Canada during the time. The album coupled with her live performances, gave Ivana critical successes and helped her became one of Canada's most talented artist. Her second album came on 2004 entitled Corduroy Boogie.
