Is This It is the debut album of The Strokes released on August 27, 2001 in United Kingdom and October 9, 2001 in the United States by RCA. Following the release, the album gained critical and popular attention for their stripped down sound. On July 2006, the album was ranked 48 on The Observer's list of 'The 50 Albums That Changed Music.'

Nonetheless, the famous singles released from the album includes: "Someday", "Hard to Explain" and "Last Nite" were all performed well in the U.S. Modern Rock Charts.

The album is certified Gold in the United States and certified platinum in United Kingdom.
