In My Own Words was released on February 28, 2006 under Def Jam Records. The single "So Sick" was #1 on the Top Billboard 100. Ne-Yo also appeared in Ghostface Killah's Fishscale and There's Something About Remy. The album reached number one on Billboard 200.He wrote the lyrics of each song in the album.
