About
Illuminate contains 16 tracks which blends acoustic rhythms with electronic effects and modern rock tunes. "Sparks Fly," the opening track is a short acoustic sampling of what the album has to offer. It's followed by "Revolutionary Love," a worship song beyond the box of a typical worship tune, which includes techno beats and synth samples combined in an acoustic rock melody. The track "O Praise Him (All This for a King)" is a popular worship included in the Passion Worship projects. "Intoxicating" has an alternative funk rhythm similar to Dave Matthews Band, while "How Great" boasts a rock worship tune, and "Only You" is a guitar ballad which is corporate and intimate. The track "Deliver Me' is originally a song made famous by Sarah Brightman in previous years.
Illuminate landed in No. 1 spot on the SoundScan retail sales charts, and gave way for seven more Dove Award nominations for the band. The album received the "Best Worship Project" abd "Best New Song" for "O Praise Him (All This for a King)" from Worship Leader Magazine Praise Awards. David Crowder Band also joined Michael W. Smith and MercyMe on national tour, and began their first headline tour with the success of the album.

Reviews
Illuminate is full of adoration and artistry. Its music style is not one-dimensional, it's a collaboration of the knacks of the pack--from David Crowder plucking his Crowdster Acoustic and pounding rhythms in his piano keys, to Mike Hogan scratching vinyls for such DJ effects and striking chords in his violin, to Jason and Jack filling in the leads and electric rhythms, and the rest of the cast plugging in to complete this one revolutionary work. Within this artistic musical array are songs swelling with praise and bounty of worship, which is the core of David Crowder Band. --jamie 03:49, 2 February 2007 (PST)
