About

If It Was You is their third album, the previous ones being Under Feet Like Ours, which was independently released, and This Business of Art, which came out on 2000.


The album is a wide selection of acoutic, pop, and rock songs, including "Not Tonight" and "Living Room" which were featured in episodes of Grey's Anatomy. Tegan and Sara are both on vocals. On June 3, 2003, an enhanced version of the album came out, including "Come on Kids" as bonus track, tour videos for "Born in the Eighties Tour" and "The Never-Ending Tour", and music videos for "Monday Monday Monday" and "I Hear Noises"


"I Hear Noises" and "Monday Monday Monday" were the singles released from the album.

  • At the start of their musical careers, they were known as Sara and Tegan, but they decided to change it to Tegan and Sara, since Tegan is a more unusual name and they wanted to avoid confusion with several other Canadian singers named Sara or Sarah, such as Sarah Harmer and Sarah Slean, who were popular at the time.
