Ashlee Simpson's second album which debuted number one in sales. The album offers the singles Boyfriend and L.O.V.E.. By December 2005, the album was certified platinum by RIAA.

Fifteen months after the release of her debut album, Ashlee Simpson released her second album after touring from February to April 2005. Just like the first album, she co-wrote all the songs of the album. The album is also a pop-rock mixture and described to be similar with the first one. The difference though is that the album offers the influence of the 80's music and as Ashlee said, she loved the 80's music. Also, I Am Me is also more aggressive than Autobiography and incorporates a range of musical styles.
