A Grammy nominated, Alternative/Rock band, Hole was formed in 1989 and rose to fame via their debut album, Pretty on The Inside.

About
Hole was formed on 1989 at Los Angeles by "Courtney Love", "Eric Erlandson" on guitar and "Lisa Roberts" on bass. They recruited "Errol Stewart" on guitar, "Jill Enemy" on bass and "Caroline Rue" on drum. Jill and Caroline left the band in 1992 and was replaced by, "Leslie Hardy" and "Patty Schemel".
In 1991, they released their singles, "Sympathy For The Record Industry" and "Sue Pop" followed by their debut album, Pretty on The Inside under Caroline Records. The album received good news from British Weekly Music Press.
Leslie left the band in 1993 and replaced by "Kristen Pfaff. The band first major label album, Live Through This was released in 1994. It also issued three hit singles, "Doll Parts", "Violet" and "Miss World". Two months later, Kristen died of overdose. "Melissa Auf Der Muur" takes the place of Kristen. The album became the group’s commercial breakthrough, leading several MTV/Radio hits and being certified platinum in 1995.
They released their EP's, Ask For It in 1995 and My Body, The Hand Grenade in 1997. Their third album, Celebrity Skin was released in 2000. In 2001, Courtney announced plans to launch a new band called, Bastard. She also announced the split up of the group in 2002.
