The video was directed by Sophie Muller, Hips Don't Lie was shot in Los Angeles, California. The video features Shakira and Wyclef Jean in an arena atmosphere. The white skirts which was used in the video is similar to the typical Colombain folk dance skirt where Shakira grew up. The video ends with Shakira and Wyclef dancing festively with people in colorful costumes.
