Helmet is an American Metal band from New York City who rose to fame via their hit album, Strap it On.

About
Helmet was formed in 1989 by "Page Hamilton" on vocals in New York City. He formed it with "Henry Boydan" on bass, "Peter Mengede" on guitar and "John Stanier" on drum. The band signed a recording contract under Amphetamine Records.
Their debut album, Strap it On was released in 1990. In 1992, they released, Meantime which sold over 1 million copies worldwide. Peter left the band in 1993, and replaced by "Rob Echevarria". Their album, Betty was released in 1994. The band has released more than five albums including compilations.
