Hayes_Carll (Joshua Hayes Carll) was born on 1978 in Houston, Texas. At his teen year, while listening to the tracks of Lyle Lovett and Bob Dylan, they inspired him to pursue music full-time. After graduating high school, he enrolled to Hendrix College majoring in theatre. At that time he was juggling quiet a few number of jobs but it did not stop Carll from picking up his guitar and composing music. He moved to Crystal Beach where he performed at Old Quarter Acoustic Café. Carll was usually the opening act of other big shot artist that visited Galveston.
In 2002, Hayes_Carll issued his debut album, Flowers and Liquor, under Compadre Record. After the release, he gained much popularity and a number of positive reviews. Carll decided to build Highway 87 label. In 2005, Little Rock was issued. It entered the American music charts and was praised all over the US and UK. In 2008, Carll released Trouble in Mind.
