Vanessa Carlton's second album entitled Harmoniunm was written while she's on tour and on sojourn San Francisco. It takes it's name from a vintage instrument which combines piano and flute. The album may not be as successful as Be Not Nobody because

Harmonium was written when Vanessa Carlton was on tour and on sojourn San Francisco. To her it means bringing difficult, chaotic things, things that have trouble fitting in one's life together to achieve harmony. Each of Harmonium's individual tracks are unified by the talents of this unique musician and the purity of her voice. Marking her emergence as a musical stylist is the result of a wholly authentic new album.
