Grinspoon are an Australian Alternative/Grunge rock band who rose to fame via their hit single, "Sickfest".

About
Grinspoon was founded in 1995 and consists of "Phil Jamieson" and "Pat Davern" on guitar, "Joe Hansen" on bass and "Kristian Hopes" on drums. Pat and Joe met Phil and Kris on jam night the main hotel in Lismore. They decided to form a band and joined a national competition that was run by Triple J, a government-funded National Youth Radio Network. The band won the competition by singing their first competition, "Sickfest".
Their debut EP, Green was released under an independent company, which also features hit singles, "Sickfest" and "More Than You Are". Their first studio album, New Detention was released in 2002, which debuted at #2 on The Australian Albums Chart. It features the single, "Chemical Heart". In 2004, they released their new single, "Hard Act To Follow" that chartered #30 in the singles chart. It is included in their second album, Thrills, Kills & Sunday Pills, which debuted at #4 in the Charts.
In 2005, they won "Rock Album of The Year" from Aria for their album, Thrills, Kills & Sunday Pills. The band has nominated for nine times.
