Gotta Tell You was released on October 31, 2000 in the United States by Polydor Records. The pop/R&B genre album spawned six singles the first of which is the album-titled single "Gotta Tell You" which peaked at number two and three in the United Kingdom and Australian Charts. At the same time peaking at number 2 in the U.S. Hot Billboard 100.

The five other singles that was released in the album were "Body II Body", "Always Come Back to Your Love", "Baby Come on Over", "Don't Need You To (Tell Me I'm Pretty)" and "Lately.

"Lately" was the only single of the album that did not reached the top five in the U.K. Charts.

"Don't Need You To (Tell Me I'm Pretty)" the fifth single of the album was also used in the Legally Blonde Soundtrack. There was no video made for the single.
