About

Gina G's musical inclination started out at a very young age when she was being brought by her parents to witness them rehearsing for their show. Her mother, Heather was a renowned singer while her father, Peter was a jazz musician. They formed a 5-piece band and played all across Australia and Britain.

Right there and then, young Gina got attracted to pop music and desperate to get into music any way she could.

But before she entered the music scene, she first worked as a DJ (in 1990) at the hottest clubs in the area while starting to penned her own piece.

Not satisfied with just playing somebody's records, Gina decided to go to Melbourne to fulfill her dream of becoming a singer/songwriter.

There, she became part of the dance music act called Bass Culture and after a series of live club performances, the group landed a contract deal with Mushroom Records and created Love The Life which made a big impact on the dance and pop scene.

This tracks along with other tracks written and performed by Gina were used regularly on the Australia daytime soap Neighbors and Home and Away, as well as being heard on the Aaron Spelling TV Drama Models Inc. in America.

Still wanting to pursue a solo career as a huge pop star, she left the group and flew to United Kingdom in 1994. There she landed a job in a record company responsible for screening demo tapes. One of those tapes was the rough 'n' raw version of Just A Little Bit. This song caught Gina's attention, so she contacted the two producers of the demo and they agreed to re-edit the song that soon renamed Ooh..Aah, Just A Little Bit.

In March 1996, Gina joined the Eurovision Song Contest with her Ooh..Aah, Just A Little Bit as UK's entry. But the song failed to impress the judges though became a commercial hit in the UK, rocketed to No.1 and remained in the Top 5 for almost 3 months. It was also a huge hit across Europe and in the US.

Gina instantly became a gay icon, with avid followers waiting outside London's G.A.Y. club only to see her perform and 2000 people inside the club chanting her name before her number.

Suddenly, all of Gina's effort when to nothing when she got caught up in a contractual dispute with her producer, Steve Rodway (Motiv8) and ceased recording.

Gina waited for 3 years not releasing any material because of the incident. But because of her determination not to be beaten up by this misfortune, she migrated to America to write with renowned songwriters and cutting edge producers.

In 2003, she made her comeback on ITV's Reborn In The USA (providing two songs on this soundtrack album) and joined the 2005's UK Eurovision Song Contest for the second time but both attempts were unsuccessful.

In August 2005, Gina released her mush anticipated comeback album called Get Up & Dance under her own record label, Stuntgirl Music Ltd. The album was exclusively available only at her website.
