In England, Freddie attended Ealing College of Art where he met Jimi Hendrix. He also got acquainted with bassist, Tim Staffel. Staffel was in a band at that time known as Smile. When Freddie started ging to their gigs he also met guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. Freddie and Taylor opened a small store in Piccadilly Circus selling rock clothings. In 1970, Staffel left his band. Freddie took this chance and made their own band together with May and Taylor.
At this time it was the peak of the rock movement. Freddie decided to mix all the styles of the bands that inspired him and it resulted to the Queen. Later they recruited bassist, John Deacon. Before the release of the band's self titled debut album in 1973, Freddie decided to release his own solo single "I Can Hear Music" but unfortunately it didn't get much attention.

He kept it to himself. Instead, he continued to record an album with Queen and his own solo album, Barcelona, which was released in 1988. In 1991, Freddie's condition became worse. On November 24, 1991, the day before Freddie decided to announce his ailment, Freddie died at his residence in London. In 1992, other members of the Queen with other artists such as Elton John, Guns N' Roses, Seal, Metallica, David Bowie, Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey, George Michael, and Liza Minnelli paid a concert tribute at Wembley Stadium. Reviews
The Legendary Freddie Mercury is a good with his band but as a solo artist he is not that powerful. His solo albums are bold and has classic dance tracks. Mr. Bad Guy is fun while his follow-up album Barcelona which is another big hit is a mix of pop and opera. Freddie is one of the greatest singer of the century. He can adjust to any genre of music. --Mimi 08:40, 2 March 2007 (PST)
