Freddie Jackson is an American R&B/Soul Singer.As a solo artist, Jackson has enjoyed consistent success with best-selling recordings and sold-out concerts. Freddie rose to fame via his debut album, Rock Me Tonight.

Freddie Jackson was born on October 2, 1956 in Harlem, New York. Freddie got his musical start as a gospel singer at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. While singing in the church, he met "Paul Laurence". After graduating, Freddie became a member of "Laurence-Jones Ensemble Group". They regularly performed at nightclub scene. Afterwards, Freddie transferred in the West Coast and became the lead singer of the band, "Mystic Merlin". Later on, he returned in New York to work again with Paul at his Hush Productions Company. He recorded a demo samples of Paul's compositions. He also became the back up singer of "Melba Moore" in his tour, after Melba saw Freddie performing in a New York nightclub.
In 1985, Freddie went into solo. He signed a recording contract under Capitol Records and released his debut album, Rock Me Tonight. The album became number 1 in the US R&B Charts. His singles, "Rock Me Tonight" landed #1 for six weeks at the R&B Charts, "You are My Lady" also reached number 1 at the R&B Charts. Other singles like, "He'll Never Love You (Like I Do)" and "Love Is Just a Touch Away" also reached the R&B Top Ten. The album has sold four million copies and became platinum.
His next album, Just Like The First Time was released in 1986. The album reached #1 on the R&B Album Charts. It also features number one hit singles like "Tasty Love," "Have You Ever Loved Somebody," and "Jam Tonight". His other single, "I Don't Want to Lose Your Love" peaked #2 at the R&B Charts.
In 1988, his third album, Don't Let Love Slip Away was released and chartered #1 on the R&B Album Charts. It spawned the hit singles, "Hey Lover", "Nice and Slow" and "Crazy (For Me)". His album Here It Is was released in 1994 under RCA Records. His other albums released were, Private Party in 1995 under Street Life, Life After 30 in 1999, It's Your Move in 2004 which returned him at the Top 10 charts, Personal Reflections in 2005 and Transitions in 2006 under Orpheus Music.
