Fox Confessor Brings the Flood is one of the most eagerly anticipated album of 2006. In this album, Neko Case collaborated with several artists including Howe Gelb of Giant Sand, The Sadies, Calexico, Seattle punk-rock Rachel Flotard of Visqueen and Garth Hudson of The Band, to name a few. What sets this album apart from her previous efforts is her maturity in terms of songwriting and producing. She has written or co-written all the songs compiled in this album. Her wonderful, graceful and powerful voice is one of the main reason why this album gained a two-thumbs up review.

This album has memorable tunes and great singing by Neko Case. Even a non-country music fan would love this album. Considered as her best effort yet, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood is well-crafted and well-prepared resulting to wonderful songs and considered as one of the best and stronger releases for 2006. --Raine 06 January 2007 24:40 PDT
