Flipper is an American Noise Rock band who rose to fame via their album, Generic Flipper.

Flipper was formed in 1979 at San Francisco California by "Bruce Loose" on bass, "Steve DePace" on drums, and "Ted Falconi" on guitar and "Will Shatter". Their debut album, Generic Flipper was released in 1982 under Subterranean Records. The album features the singles, "Brainwash" and "Old Lady That Swallowed The Fly".
In 1984, their second album, Gone Fishin' was released under Subterranean Records and features the singles, "The Lights", "The Sound", "The Rhythm" and "The Noise". Their next album, American Grafishy was released in 1993 which features the singles, "Distant Illusion". Their next album is soon to be released this year after a long hiatus.
