About
Stacy Ann Ferguson was born on March 27, 1975 in Whittier, California to Patrick Ferguson and Terri Gore. She has one sister, Dana, who is an actress. She started as a child actress in a TV program - Kids Incorporated. She has also done voice over for Sally Brown in Charlie Brown specials: It's Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown (1984), Snoopy's Getting Married, Charlie Brown (1985) and also voiced Sally in the 1985 version of "The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show".
Later, with fellow Kids Incorporated stars Renee Sandstrom and Stefanie Ridel, they formed a female trio Wild Orchid. They released two albums, but unfortunately, after completing a third album, their record label refused to release it. This prompted an emotional crisis, and Fergie soon left the group.
Her disappointment with the group led to an addiction to ecstacy and crystal methamphetamine. She said in an interview that her weight dropped to 90 lbs. She even tried lying to her friends by telling them that she's bulimic. Eventually, she quit taking crystal meth addiction and told Time Magazine in September 2006, that It was the hardest boyfriend I ever had to break up with.
In 2003, Ferguson joined Black Eyed Peas replacing background singer Kim Hill, who left the group in 2000. After two hit albums from her group the Black Eyed Peas, she focused on a solo career and released her debut album The Dutchess on September 19, 2006. Her album is a misspelled variant of the former title Duchess of York of Sarah and Stacy Ferguson, whom she share surname and nickname. Her decision to pursue a solo career doesn't mean the end of the Black Eyed Peas because she intends to stay with the group and alternate her two duties.
