[edit] Earlly Life
Fefe Dobson was born Felicia Lynn on February 28, 1985 in Toronto, Ontario. Her mother is of Irish, Dutch, and English descent while her father is a Jamaican. Her father left her family when she was young and she stopped seeing him when she was 13.
On her 11th birthday, her mother had given her a karaoke which eventually she learned how to use. She then recorded a demo of 24 songs from various artist such as Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Madonna. But was less successful in finding a record company, she also decided to give song writing a try.
On high school, she went to Wexford Collegiate Institute in Scarborough known for their performing arts program. And had still continued looking for a record label. It was on the year 2000, that she was discovered by Jive Records and signed her immediately. But with some misunderstanding on the image the label would want to project, she left. And was discovered by Def Jam Music while performing in a toronto bar. And released her album.

Her self titled debut album was released 2003 by Island records that sold 304,000 copies in the United States. Two hit singles were released of the album "Bye Bye Boyfriend" and "Take Me Away".
