"The Best Performance I Ever Heard in the show's history" This was the comment of Randy Jackson, one of the three judges of American Idol when Fantasia Barrino rendered her own version of the song Summertime. Fantasia became the grand champion on the third season of American Idol'. Her second album, Fantasia has just recenly released.

About
Fantasia Barrino was born on June 30, 1984 in High Point, North Carolina. Her mother was an African American and her father was and Afro-Trinidadian. Fantasia became a choir member at the age of five along with her parents and siblings. They are a family of musician.
She was a dropped out in high school after a sexual assault. At an early age of 17, she became pregnant and gave birth. Her relationship with her boyfriend did not work out. Fantasia became a single mother at an early age.
Fantasia caught the attention of the televiewers and the judges at the third season of American Idol when she sang her own rendition of Proud Mary. Her standout performance during the show was when she render the song Summertime and earned positive comments from the judges especially from Randy Jackson when he said that it was the "Best Performance" he had ever heard in the show's history. Fantasia emerged as the winner of the third season of American Idol.
She released her first single, I Believe in 2004, a month after the show, which was composed by Tamyra Gray, one of the finalists in the first season of American Idol and gas been certified double platinum by the CRIA. Her signature version of Summertime was released also in that year, and debuting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The single spent 11 consecutive weeks at number one in Canada.
Fantasia released her debut album, Free Yourself in the later part of 2004 and debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200 Pop Album Chart. The album sold over one million copies and went platinum. Her singles, Truth Is and Free Yourself became a hit, peaking number 2 and number 3 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Tracks Chart. Fantasia just released recently her second album, Fantasia last December, 2006.
