[edit] About
Erika Jo or Erika Jo Heriger in real life was born on November 2, 1986 in Angleton, Texas to "Bo and Paige Heriges". They moved in Nashville at the age of one. She had been singing on stage since she was two years old. At the age of four, her father put together a band of Nashville pickers and started traveling the country. Performing with the band gave her the confidence to try out with Nashville Star.
At the age of 17, she auditioned for Nashville Star, a country music talent contest. However, she was sent home for her first try out. She try her luck again in 1995 and luckily she make the final 10 of the show, and went all the way to the end taking home the prize of the record deal and the Grand Winner of the 2005 Nashville Star. At that same year, she graduated at Wilson Central High School.
